Established in 2011 by automotive enthusiast Bill West, World Class Finish has become synonymous with impeccable craftsmanship and unparalleled expertise in the Akron/Northeast Ohio area. But the journey to this level of excellence began long before the doors of the business officially opened. Bill's passion for cars was ignited during his childhood, growing up with a father who shared a deep love for cars and a mother who embraced her inner gearhead, frequently indulging in drag racing. Fond memories of riding in his parent’s hotrods created a deep connection to the automotive world from an early age. With friends and neighbors, he began by helping prep cars in a home garage. Intrigued and inspired, Bill eagerly immersed himself in the world of automotive restoration, starting with simple cleaning tasks and gradually acquiring the knowledge and experience to tackle more complex projects.
Fueling his passion, Bill enrolled in a vocational school with an autobody technician program, where he found an exceptional instructor in Bill Nelson. Under Mr. Nelson's expert guidance, Bill mastered the foundational skills that would serve as the bedrock of his future success. It was during this time that Bill gained experience on a 1966 Chevelle convertible. With high school behind him, Bill stepped into the professional world at the age of 18, securing his first position at a reputable body shop. Over the years, he honed his craft, working at various prestigious Akron-area shops. At each establishment, Bill's unwavering commitment to excellence earned him the respect of his peers. Studying under the most skilled technicians in each shop, he refined his techniques until he emerged as the preeminent painter in the region. Through dedication and relentless pursuit of mastery, Bill ascended to the role of a team leader and head painter. His passion and expertise were evident as he consistently raised the bar and set new standards for quality and precision. With time, Bill's reputation as one of the finest painters in Akron and Northeast Ohio became indisputable.
